Blake DeLong is a sixth generation Texan whose ancestors were among the first settlers of the town of Joaquin, near the Sabine River, in the mid 19th century. DeLong was an award-winning actor in the theatre department at Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, before studying history and playing in rock bands while attending The University of Texas at Austin. He began appearing in new and experimental plays in the Austin theater scene in the early 2000’s, and was subsequently recruited to return to the university as an MFA student in acting. His numerous stage credits include work at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, The Public Theater, and New York Theater Workshop, where he appeared alongside Daniel Craig in Othello. Matt Muir’s 2014 SXSW selection, Thank You a Lot (2014), introduced DeLong to American and international film audiences. His many film and TV credits include collaborations with Lynne Ramsay, Tilda Swinton, Ava DuVernay, Spike Lee, Michael Almereyda, Nisha Ganatra, Mindy Kaling, Emma Thompson, Jeremy Podeswa, and Russell Crowe.
